FAQ for Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)

1. How do I pay for VRI?

The Z accepts all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express). Purchase orders are accepted upon approval.

2. How much does VRI cost?

VRI is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the rate of $3.49 per minute with a 15-minute minimum session.


• Calls less than 15 minutes are billed as 15-minute calls.

• Calls more than 15 minutes are billed for actual time.

3. How do I connect with a video remote interpreter?

After you have registered to use the service, use your Z videophone to call 800.464.9874 to connect with the video interpreter and begin your VRI session.

4. What is the difference between VRS and VRI?

Video relay service (VRS) is used for phone conversations between a sign language user and a non-signing user in separate physical locations. VRI is used to facilitate a conversation where both the sign language user and non-signer are in the same room.
